Container Introduction

  • A container is a metal box that can carry packaged or unpackaged goods for transportation, and is easy to load and unload with mechanical equipment, with a certain strength and stiffness.
  • Early containers did not have a unified standard, which led to transportation companies having to recycle their own containers for reuse, resulting in high costs and low efficiency. To address this issue, the ISO 104th Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization proposed the first international container standard in 1964, and in the following years, the standard models were expanded according to actual needs.
  • In addition to international standards, there are several other types of standards:

1. National standards, such as China's GB/T1413-2008;
2. Regional standards;
3. Company standards.
In fact, commonly used container standards in China are fully referenced from international standards.
